Hey, Los Angeles!
Well, it's that time of the year again, when the weather cools down to a warm and balmy 80 degrees in L.A., Daylight Savings Time affords us one additional hour of sleep, people are prepping for the their Thanksgiving Holiday and the Los Angeles Auto Show comes into town!
Spam and I love to have fun at different shows and events in L.A. and this is one where we are going to definitely be taking you to and giving you a behind the scenes look!
If you're in the L.A. are, we'd love it if you joined in on the fun with us! If not, join us virtually here, on Periscope or Instagram!
Here's what you need to know:
1) The Who/What/Where
The L.A. Auto Show is held every year at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Downtown L.A. from November 18-27th. For you die hard Auto Aficionados that are looking for something to do after Turkey dinner that don't want to get a start on Black Friday shopping, the show is even open on Thanksgiving Day!
Tickets are $5-$15 and you can also buy early entry, special experience and group tickets (or enter to win tickets—see details below). Discount parking is available a short distance from the L.A. Convention Center and can be reserved with Spot Hero; first time Spot Hero users can get $5 off by using the code AUTOLA. Or, the Metro Expo rail line now connects Santa Monica and downtown; the Pico station is just a block from the L.A. Convention Center.
2) It's Family Friendly!
I remember going to the show since I was 8 years old with my family. It's a place where your kids can watch YOU be a kid in the candy store. You can push all the buttons, turn all the dials and so can your kids! Word on the street is that there will be lots of drive simulators (aka VR) available to give you and the kids what it's like to drive some of their favorite cars like Toyota, Ford and Subaru.
3) You can take REAL Test Drives!
The LA Auto Show has Ride & Drive opportunities every day of the show. With more than 100 cars available, all you have to do is show up, bring your Driver's License, sign the almighty waiver and pass a breathalyzer (sorry, no margaritas). Kids can ride with you as long as they are 8 years old or older.
4) NO PUSHY SALES PEOPLE!
This is a chance to find out all about almost EVERY car on the planet without having some pushy sales guy bothering you to buy!
